The Philosophy of InCoNe

Integrated Cooperation Network (InCoNe) is a cooperation of three non-profit organizations to share resources and minimize operating and opportunity cost. Though the three organizations seem to be of different objectives, the expertise they require to achieve their objectives have some common points. For instance, we cannot carry out environmental or horticulture-agronomic studies without statistics. In the same line, agricultural activities and human interventions toward the environment have a lot of relationships with anthropological settings and much more interesting, the changes occurring in an environment are closely linked to the life styles of its inhabitants, which in turn are determined by a combination of cultural patterns and the type of education administered to them; consequently, the bridge between human interventions in the environment and anthropological settings is indubitable, making effective the collaboration between GOOAHEAD and CADI. Some of these cultural aspects as local languages, art and craft can be enormously useful in scientific communication. Statistics whether qualitative or quantitative and data management remain a major tool in sociological and anthropological research and whatever action we take to model our society. It is now obvious that InCoNe does not only bridge these organizations in term of resource sharing but also puts forward the interrelatedness among knowledge, skills and expertise they require to achieve their objectives.

The three organizations that make up InCoNe are Foundation of Applied Statistics and Data Management (FASTDAM), Green Organization for Operational Horticultural-Agricultural and Environmental Activities for Development (GOOAHEAD) and Cheikh Anta  Diop Lodge (CADI). Did You Know This?

Culture and development are complex processes that impact on each other in significant ways which in turn have major repercussions for the communities and individuals concerned. Clearly, both because of the impact that culture has on development and that development has on culture, the cultural dimension of development cannot be ignored.
