ABOUT GOOAHEAD
GOOAHEAD is a non profit organization created on the 22 Nov 2006 in conformity with Law No 90/053 of 19/12/90 relating to the formation and functioning of associations. GOOAHEAD is highly involved in sensitization and surveillance and actively participates in major environmental celebrations like the World Environment Day, and brings substantial inputs to environmental and agricultural activities carried out by NGOs, governmental and educational institutions. The Executive Director is Nana Célestin, a Cameroonian, holder of national Identity Card No 1114725225-SW22 issued at Buea on the 09/08/2011. The Executive Director is assisted by Tasse Geraud, a Cameroonian, holder of national identity Card No 107236156 issued at Bafoussam on the 29/05/2006.
GOOAHEAD today, has a word in the environmental conservation and sustainable farming practices with four books already published namely Environmental Education for all in Africa I: Deforestation, Loss of Biodiversity and Global Warming; Environmental Education for all in Africa II: Soil Degradation, Water Degradation; Environmental Education for all in Africa III: Air pollution, Pollution by Microwaves, Depletion of the Ozone Layer; Environmental Education for all IV: Sustainable Management of Resources, Ethical and Technical Frameworks of Environmental Management and Assessment. GOOAHEAD played considerable role in research projects. Such projects as the Cameroon-European Union- FP7 Project ‘Mitigate and assess Risk from Volcanic Impact on terrain and human activities (MIAVITA); Collaborative project-FP7-ENV-2007-1 Cameroon-European union ‘Socio-Economic Vulnerability and Resilience in Mount Cameroon Region’, the University of Buea (UB) and International Development Research Centre (IDRC) project ‘Women and Land Rights’, The Environment and Rural Development Foundation (ERUDEF) project ‘Bush Meat Survey’ and 'Correlation between Wildlife Exploitation and Biodiversity Reduction', ‘Potable Water Supply in Africa’ by the African Technology Policy Studies (ATPS), Academic Projects such as ‘Diversity of Acanthaceae in the Mount Cameroon’, ‘Effects of organic and inorganic fertilizers on the growth and nutrient concentration of vegetables’, ‘Effects of Inclusion of Moringa oliefera leaf meal on the growth and laying performance of Quails’, ‘Effect of cow dung application and spraying of Light Matrix Organic (Protriotic) on the production of Tripsacum laxum’, ‘Vulnerability assessment of climate change impact on NTFP's in the East Region of Cameroon (Socio-economic impact survey)’, ‘The Impact of Partially and Completely Replacing Fish Meal with Soyabean meal on the fish diet on the growth performance of Oreochromis niloticus fingerlings in Cameroon’, ‘Characterisation of grasscutters under intensive management based on feed intake and growth performance’, ‘Microbial, Chemical and Sensory characteristics of Spiced smoked fish in Cameroon’, ‘Effects of substituting rubber seeds for soyabeans meal on the growth of broiler chicks’, ‘Serum biochemistry and haematological indices of broilers chickens fed rubber seed meal in place of soyabeans meal.’; ‘Diversity and abundance of zooplankton (Rotifera & Cladocera) in fish ponds in Fako and Meme Divisions and their culturing for use in fish culture.’, ‘Correlation between wildlife exploitation and biodiversity reduction’. GOOAHEAD has actively participated in the conception of the Forest and Environment Governance Handbook for Mount Cameroon Biodiversity Hotspot and Southern Bakundu Forest Reserve in the Framework of Forest Governance Project.
