ABOUT FASTDAM

FASTDAM is a non-profit organization created on the 22nd of November 2006 in conformity with Law No 90/053 of 19/12/90 relating to the formation and functioning of associations in Cameroon.

FASTDAM has as main objective to encourage, promote and project to the community, researchers, students and organizations an insight understanding on the role of statistical data management and analysis in meaningful development and research in a bid to enhance knowledge and application of statistics and data management using modern electronic devices such as computers.

The headquarters is in Buea, in Fako Division, opposite FOTABE HOUSE, first door of the second floor of the second storey building behind MoneyGram building.

The Executive Director is Nana Célestin, a Cameroonian, holder of National Identity Card No 101666682 issued at Limbe on the 18/05/2001 who healed his educational career in Cameroon, Engineering school of Lullier, University of Geneva and Polytechnic of Lausanne in Switzerland and Organizations through training workshops. The executive director of the organization has played leading role in project as field monitor, data manager and data analyst. Such projects as the WHO-TDR multi-country project Community Directed Integrated Health Intervention, the European Union-TDR project Community Directed Treatment with Doxycycline, the African Technology Policy Study (ATPS) project on the Study of Potable Water Supply in Africa, The ANESVAD (Spanish International NGO specialized in Neglected Tropical Diseases) project the Health Diagnosis of Cameroon, IDRC-UB Research Project Women and Land Rights, American FulBright Research Project entitled Gender, Microfinance and Entrepreneurship in Fako Division …, several undergraduate, Masters and Doctorate research projects. Nana has been invited as technical adviser by WHO/TRD and other organizations in several international and local analytical workshops and has facilitated analytical workshops and training in quantitative and qualitative data management and analysis.

FASTDAM collaborates only with non-profit entities such as students, researchers, educational institutions, NGOs, humanitarian researchers etc.

 

FASTDAM is currently assisted in its activities by  Shu Mirabel, a Cameroonian volunteer.

 

Students who come to analyze their data spend a short journey in FASTDAM during which they are seriously implicated at the different levels of data processing and analysis, as well as summary, presentation and interpretation of statistical outputs.  During their journey in FASTDAM, we do the necessary effort to make sure that they improve on their level in statistical data analysis and research methods as a whole. Research assistants of  research projects equally enjoy the same advantages.
