OBJECTIVES OF CADI

CADI was created to serve the following objectives:

To save and promote Cameroonian and African cultural heritage;

To make available and share with others Cheikh Anta Diop works;

To publish in various forms works on African cultures. Oral tradition has shown its efficiency in preserving and transmitting knowledge over generations. Backing oral tradition with writings will be a great asset for the perpetuation and sharing of African culture all over the world;

To promote cultural galleries for the exhibition of cultural and handicraft values;

To organized cultural workshops, shows and exhibitions. They have proven to be wonderful places for revamping and sharing of cultural knowledge and values;

To encourage the reproduction (copies) of authentic arts and handicraft to curb the theft of the originals. This alternative is also cost-effective not only for the preservation of original arts but also for economic development as authentic copies can be produced massively;

To create a crossroad for African culture where people from all over the world can meet to exchange knowledge on African cultural values;

To bridge culture and environmental conservation and use cultural tools such as painting, handicraft, song and drama to sensitize and educate on environmental issues.
